The Hub
Trolleys not to be taken out of store?

Shops, Products, Services

On Saturday 9/03/2013 I had just completed shopping to the value of over R600 at the Hub - mainly being crockery and glassware.
The items were heavy so I made use of a trolley with space for two baskets.

However, at the entrance to the store I was told by security that the trolleys may not be removed from the store.
I then had to leave my items with the security guard and look for a trolley somewhere else in the centre by myself (the security guard offered no assistance whatsoever), then come repack my goods before taking it to my car.

When I questioned security about this practice, they said it was to prevent of trolleys.

Why does the Hub provide trolleys if I cannot take them to my car?
At least if I was told up front I'd know not to purchase heavy items.

Does this practice apply to the elderly or injured as well?

I was shocked and extremely irritated by the complete disinterest in my complaint.
