Zara
Discriminates against shoppers with trolleys!

Shops, Products, Services

I was shopping with my toddler recently in Sandton City - because I had a young child and had shopping I was using a trolley. I entered the Zara store and as I was browsing a display at the front of the store, the security guard approached me and told me I must leave the store because trolleys are not allowed. I asked to see the manager who just said this is their policy and was not interested in discussing further. I asked for the head office number and spoke to Cindy who confirmed this. My complaint is that this is discrimination against their very target market consumer - females. We are mothers with children and need the assistance of trolleys when shopping - what are we supposed to do with our trolleys if they are not allowed in the store. Plus, there is no assistance to look after your belongings if this is the case. Also, given they are trading in a Mall - don't they expect people to have trolleys. Their excuse is... what if everyone had trolleys in the store at the same time? Really??!! They would be lucky to have such consumer demand in these tough trading conditions. Good luck Zara - you will never see me again.
