I purchased an e-reader from CNA Eastgate. In under a month the device wouldn't charge. I contacted the store and was told to bring in the device. I did so. After a few weeks I was told to bring in the box and all accessories as the item was to be replaced. A few more weeks passed, as did a number of follow up calls, until I was told that the suppliers refuse to replace the device and have deemed it irreparable. They stated "physical damage" to the device. I reminded the manager that I identified that the usb port had become loose and argued that if inserting the usb cable into the usb port constitutes "physical damage" then there is a problem with the product. Also, I noticed that the warranty sticker on the device had not been removed. The suppliers had "checked" the device without even bothering to open it! I insisted something be done. Eventually, the device was replaced with a used device still containing the books of the previous owner! However, my leather cover for the device was not returned. After complaints to Edcon and the CNA manager, after months, I currently sit with a second hand product and property that has been... unresolved. CNA has not once apologised
