On the 31st of January I went to return a watch that was faulty and I decided to have a look at the sales items. I took 4 sales items and paid for it at the counter where I returned the watch. That night while unpacking the items from the bag I saw that the one item was not discounted on the slip and I put it back to return it the following day. The following morning when the sales lady phoned me regarding the watch I explained the situation to her and she said I must come in so that they can fix it for me. On my arrival there later the same day, the manager was called and I was told that the stock was not sale stock and that someone (one of their customers or even worse "me") deliberately stuck a sales slip onto the item and now I am demanding to pay the reduced price. She was persistant that she can't give it to me at the reduced price. My question is: Why did the sales person who rang up the items not informed me about this on the day a bought it? It was never even a possibility that a Truworths employee accidentally put a sticker onto this item but it could only be a "skelm" customer. She made it sound as if I took it home and changed it. Surely there is CCTV at till?
