Discounted clothing not on sale

I purchased clothing at Truworths Woodlands that was on sale.

Two Ginger Mary clothing items (that were amongst the sale clothing in a separate area in the store) were clearly marked on sale, even had new prices on the labels. When at the till, the lady assisting me just called another lady. When I asked her what was wrong, she said that the items were not on sale. After a couple minutes they just told me I cannot purchase the items as it was not on sale.

When I asked to speak to the manager, the lady that assisted me said that she was the manager (Maria). I told her that I am not keen on accepting her response "I cannot sell you this, it is human error" and "I cannot overwrite the system" and that I would escalate the complaint. Maria did not offer to assist me any further.

I still am not willing to accept that these two items (both Ginger Mary) won't be sold to me at sale price!

After 2 years, I decided to make use of my Truworths account again and if this is the way you treat your customers, you can forget future patronage.
