I bought a Whirlpool built in microwave in 2012. In Sept 2013 the unit stopped working. Whirlpool assessed the problem & eventually replaced a faulty part after I followed up with them for over a month. A few weeks later, the unit was again faulty. The Whirlpool technician (Avok) reluctantly returned to assess & agreed that the new part they fitted was faulty. They were to order another part. I heard nothing for a week & then followed up, only then 2be told that they sent a credit note to Hirsch's (where I purchased the unit) to replace it. Hirsch's advised that Whirlpool's credit note only covers the cost of my (discontinued) model & that the new model is double in price. I was not prepared to pay in for a replacement when we were within our guarantee period. Shaneez (from Whirlpool) dismissively told Hirsch that Whirlpool was not prepared to fix our existing unit nor give us the upgrade at no cost to us. And that if we had a problem with this they will just refund us the money. Thankfully we bought from Hirsch's who stepped in & sorted the problem out for us.

Whirlpool's after care service is abhorrently poor & no commitment to upholding the guarantee of their products!
