Makro
Paying For A Warranty

Shops, Products, Services

About a year and a half ago I bought a packard bell laptop from makro. One of the reasons for buying it was that it had a three year warranty. At the end of last year, when a button came off the laptop, and to make use of the warranty, I had taken my laptop back to makro in order to make use of the warranty. To my dismay, the fineprint stated that the warranty had to be activated in order to be used. Extremely upset about this, I posted a complaint and it was promptly resolved and handled very well by makro.

Having been able to now get the warranty, my laptop was sent to be repaired. It took a little under three months for my laptop to reach the people who repair the laptop, and to now say that they cannot simply put one key back onto my laptop, but I should pay R1400 to replace the entire keyboard!

I was told that because the key was taken out on purpose they would not do anything.
