Cycle La
Chain installed incorrectly after major service

Shops, Products, Services

I took my bike in for a major service this week to cycle lab's new megastore in fourways. The experience as a whole was pleasant, but upon getting my bike back it really wasn't sounding good at all.

On Thursday 09/01/2014, the day I collected the bike from the service, I went for a ride and the bike's gears sounded rough. Upon getting home after the ride I inspected the rear derailer and realised the guys had installed the chain on top of the steel piece between the guide and drive pulleys on the rear derailer.

Problem is now that i realised it, i have corrected it and put the chain behind the steel piece to ensure it isnt rubbing anymore, but the damage from sitting on the steel piece and rubbing against it for 30km has left terrible grooves in the piece and of course done some chain damage.

My question is, how does such a professional organisation send a bike back after R1400 service, with such a school boy error made and following on to that my XT derailer and chain are now damaged due to someone else's (who is supposed to be the expert) incompetence?

To whom will be looking into this, WO22210, is my ref number after the service.
