I bought a big screen TV from Hi-Fi Corp just over a year ago with an extended guarantee. A year later the sound stopped working. The following day i brought the unit into the Boksburg branch and was told that i should rather let a tech collect the unit, as it would be fixed in 72 hours and not the standard 21 working days if you bring it in. I Then took TV back home and waited for a tech to call. Three days later, still nothing. I call again to inquire, and later that day a tech phones to arrange pickup the next morning. The following morning i get a call from early bird saying that their driver didnt come to work so they cant collect. I dont hear from them again. A few days later i call them and ask them if they can come and collect anytime on that specific day, and get told once again that the driver didn't come to work. I decide to bring it in myself. I load the TV AGAIN and cart it to their premises on Saturday morning and guess what? The employees are all standing outside because the owner or whoever is responsible to open up didn't pitch for work! I give up. Hi-Fi Corp has contracted Early Bird to honour their warranties so i hold Hi-Fi Corp responsible.
