Miscommunication

I bought a pair of shoes (they were on sale) and got home only to find that the shoe was broken. When i returned it back to the store I surprised to hear that I COULD NOT GET A FULL REFUND ON MY PURCHASE. Even though the stores terms and conditions says full refund on damaged goods. The lady in the store gave me bad attitude. No where in the policy does it say no refunds on sale items.
