Poor communication

I am totally disappointed by Rage shoe store. I am 24 weeks pregnant and I needed comfortable shoes. I went to the store at the Oval Shopping Centre to buy some sandals as they had a sale. I tried on a few and they were not fitting me as my feet were swollen. After several tries I found a pair I thought was ok. I paid cash for the shoes as I don't have an account with the store. When I tried to put the shoes on the next morning I realised that my feet are so swollen that the strap wouldn't close. I then decided to take the shoes back to the shop as I also work at the same shopping centre. I explained to the sales lady my problem about the shoes and why I am returning them, but to my shock I was told they will not be able to give me my money back but to give a gift voucher of the same amount so I can come some other time to buy other shoes. I couldn't believe my ears as I have never heard of such a thing from any retail shop. And worse, I was never told of this before I bought the shoes. I feel that Rage is people of their consumer right to choose what they want. I still need the shoes but I am sitting with a voucher I can't use. I don't see myself ever going back there.
