Replacement of Damaged Goods: Salomon Sneakers

On 14/12/2013 we bought a pair of Salomon sneakers for my son for a Christmas present. He was wore the shoes only for 2days, when we notice that the soles of the sneakers is perished and started to tear off, we took the shoes back on 30/12/2013 to the Retail Store. I showed the Store Manager the shoes and explained to her that Salomon have a 2 year guarantee on shoes, The Store Manager told me that she is going to send the shoes back to Salomon to resolve the issue and replace the shoes. After waiting for a period of 3 weeks for the Retail Manager to give me feedback regarding the complaint, I had to go myself to the store on 17/01/2014 to find out what is going on but without any luck. That is unacceptable I paid cash for the sneakers and why didn't the Store Manager let us just get a new pair of Salomon's at the store. To date my son have no use of his Christmas present which he only wore for 2 days. I the complainant is a huge fan of Salmon sneakers. I would prefer if my son's defective Salomon's can be replaced, I do not want a refund, just a replacement. Retailers like this damages good brand names. Since I can remember I only bought Salomon's and stil do.
