Rotten lettuce 1 day after purchase

I have always purchased my groceries from Checkers in Brackenfell but on Christmas eve, I decided to go to Checkers Cape Gate.

Among other things, I bought a bag of Freshmark mixed lettuce for Christmas lunch which I would freshly prepare the next day.

On Christmas day when I took the lettuce out of my refrigerator to prepare my salad, I was shocked to find that the lettuce was rotten. The bags are inflated so you cannot easily see if the lettuce is rotten or not. When I took it out of the bag though, it was clearly rotten and it was smelly and slimy.(not all the leaves were rotten).

Obviously I did not search through the bag to see which can still be used because it was disgusting.

So thanks for spoiling my Christmas salad by selling rotten lettuce. I now buy my veggies from Pick n Pay Hyper in Brackenfell.
