Floor staff completely ignoring customers

I was in Game today to look for some in hooks which I could not find on the shelves, I spent about 10 minutes looking through the screws and DIY section looking for them, while 3 or 4 floor staff guys sat just down the isle from me talking and making jokes while packing things into shelves.

I then went to the help desk where two ladies were talking and writing things in books, they both looked up at me and then down again continuing their conversation. Now I am not sure if they were not suppose to help customers or if they were busy with something very important, but a simple "hello" Or a "I will find somebody who can help you" would have been nice, but I was completely ignored for about 5 minutes, standing less than a meter away from them!
