What is your store policy

Kindly need clarity on your EXACT Polokwane/Landros Mare Shop 51 store policy of not accepting coins? When i went to pay an account today at this store with R5 and R2 coins to the value of R280.00 i was advised that the store does not accept coins. I told the cashier i cannot accept it since it is telling me my money is not good enough. She proceeded to call the manager Janet who on upon of arrival to the till and seeing the coins gestured that she will not accept it. Her reasoning is that it is a hassle for her to cash up in the morning. I asked her is this store or company policy and I DO NOT understand why this is being posed as problem, the store not wanting to accept my money. NOW i would like to know from Janet, if i return next month wanting to pay my account will i have to suffer the same scenario of having to defend myself to pay my account. Are coins accepted, what is the company policy? Why was i to put in a difficult position of having such petty arguments because it is inconveniencing Janet. Please do advice if i can expect the same argument next month when i try to pay my account with my hard earned money that seems to be not good enough for this store. Truly upset.
