Spar not willing to accept 5c coins

Yesterday I went to my local Spar which I support regularly. I wanted to pay cash and gave the cashier two 5c coins. Big was my surprise when I was told they do not accept 5c coins.
This is totally unacceptable! Even though I had other money on me and, I told the cashier to cancel the transaction and went somewhere else. It was inconvenient but I wanted to proof a point. Spar, if my 5c coin is not good enough for you, my other money is also not good enough for you
