Grey hound ticket sale crisis

I purchased two Greyhound tickets on Sunday 29/12/2013 at Shoprite Checkers in Westonaria from Johannesburg to Polokwane for Monday 31/12/2013. The cashier that assisted me (Elsie Ngewana) explained that if I wanted to return the tickets I can do so within 3 days from day of purchase, this will result in me getting a full refund. I had a family crisis on Tuesday morning 31/12/2013. When i back to Shoprite to claim for my refund the very same cashier gave me attitude and told me that was not their problem and that I needed to contact Greyhound myself to get a refund. Shoprite is not responsible for refunding me. That did not make sense to me as she was the one that explained to me that I can get a refund.

I then requested to speak to the Manager Lizelle Kanmeyer who explained that I only qualify for a refund within 24 hours of purchase. I feel mislead by Shoprite and the cashier as what was explained to me on the day when I purchased the tickets was totally different to what the manager told me. The cashier called me a in front of her manager and the manager just stood there and said nothing. I feel misled by this cashier for giving me the wrong information and want my refund
