On Monday the 18th of March I went to Shoprite Brick hill to buy my return tickets to Johannesburg at the Shoprite money market. A cashier by the name of Cynthia (light in complexion with frickles on her face) was on duty and assisted us. She was rude in a sense that she was busy singing while servicing customers, the was no greeting, proper communication or customer service skills. She dropped our tickets, didnt apologise and said next customer please. I asked if what she did was professional, She just spoke back to me without apologizing. I asked for the store manager, She asked me to look for her until I insited. The manager approached without a name tech and asked what the problem was. As I explained she walked away and didnt give us her attention. Question: How does one qualify to be a manager in any shoprite store? isnt it part of a uniform to wear a name tech on duty? does shoprite train their staff before placing them on site? Are the managers taught or given regular training on how to address escalations?
