Spar
Efused to let me draw cash at the till

Shops, Products, Services

Yesterday I wanted to draw money at the till in Spar as my bank keeps advising me that this is the cheaper and safer option. The cashier informed me that I need to buy for R50 before I can draw money. I was upset as this is not the way Checkers or Pick n Pay operate. I went back into the store and picked a few items to the value of just over R50 and queued at the cashier again. I informed her that I needed to draw R1000 and she said she didn't have that much inthe till. I asked her to get the manager as they should get money from the other tills to help me, as is the norm at the other stores. The manageress took one look at my purchases and told me I needed to buy for R100 if I wanted to draw R1000. I became very upset as I had an appointment in Pretoria and no time to drive to any of the other stores or queue at the bank. The manageress insisted that I use the atm in the store, even though I repeatedly pointed out that it was not the same bank that I use. I left the store without money and promised that I shall never do business there again.
