So i applied for a TFG account online with reason to buy a ring and a cellphone for Christmas. When the lady called to confirm my details etc, i was told that i must fetch my card at any TFG store and i can start shopping immediately. I asked if there would be any payment made for my first time buying as i have no other accounts and i was assured that until my first payment was made, i will have to pay 15% of purchase price. After my first payment, i will no longer need to do this and can shop as per all customers that take things on account. Low and behold, when i tried to purchase a phone at Mat and May Cape Gate earlier today, i was told that i need to pay in 15%. My account is now 2 months old. After contacting customer services, the lady on the phone corrected the Store lady, that its not 15%, it is 30% CASH PAYMENT on this cellphone?? Not to mention the ladies rudeness above all, i was fuming! What is the point of having a TFG Account if you have to pay 15 - 30% cash every time you shop?? This is PATHETIC and i will be closing my account today as its totally useless and defeats the point of having AN ACCOUNT
