No return on broken item will be a loss to us

I bought 6 pack water at pnp on nicol. When I got home in Honeydew for lunch quick and to drop shopping I saw 1 bottle was empty. I went straight to pnp honey junction and asked to exchange it as I just bought it. But the manager said sorry no I must take it back to pnp on nicol as it will be a finacial loss to his pnp to exchange it. How horrible is pnp. That is why so many people shop at woolies and checkers. Because pnp don't deliver.
