New elliptical rusted

Yesterday I bought an elliptical. While my husband was busy setting it up, one part broke due to being rusted.
The problem is that the store is in Somerset West and I live in Bredasdorp.
You do not expect eauipment from almost R3000 to be rusted when you take it out of the box??
