No update on delivery

An online order was placed and paid for on the 26th October 2013. To date the order has not been recieved. When I try to check the status online, it just says "processing". Today is day 4 and I still have no update. I have contacted the contact centre and was advised that the products ordered may not be in stock and that "they" are probably trying to find stock. Weird as if a product is not available, it normally says "out of stock" or "sold out". So am I supposed to wait here until maybe they find stock? Really pathetic for such a large company. So right now, I have no idea if and when my order will be delivered or ready!!! How do I cancel???!!!
