Poor service/training in relation to Thank U point

My husband and I decided to use our Edgars Thank U points that we keep getting pestered about via sms, so about 3 weeks ago we visit Edgars Pavilion. Upon going to pay for our goods, we were told they were offline and they couldn't redeem our Thank U points (around R206). SO this weekend we decided to try AGAIN. Visited Edgars Pavilion and upon paying for our purchases my husband asked the cashier to use his R206 Thank U points. Either the cashier was DEAF or just plain IGNORED him because he put the goods on the account without redeeming the Thank U points. My husband, highly annoyed, stormed out the store and I decided to try and redeem our points at Boardmans - EVEN worse idea. Collected goods to the value of about R400 and when getting to the til I asked the cashier to redeem my R206 off our purchase. 2 staff members later and a manager and after about 20 minutes not one staff member could redeem our points. I eventually asked them to credit my account and keep their goods and we stormed out the store once again! 3 ATTEMPTS at trying to get our "rewards" and we were left HIGHLY irritated and with a higher account than what we intended! Have you not trained your staff?!?!?!?
