On Monday, 23 September I went to edgars to use points that where expiring on 24 September. I was sent an sms to say that I had been rewarded points to the value of R50. On scanning my card, the cashier told me there were no points. I showed him the sms and was redirected to customer care. The lady phoned head office and said she would redeem the voucher. I was very pleased. She than needed all my details, saying it was not captured and that was the reason for the problem. I wondered how I received the sms if my details where not captured. This process took about 15 mins of my time. After that she processed my purchase but could only redeem the voucher via the sms and not the rest of the points on my card. A total of 20 minutes was lost and I was unable to complete my shopping because of other commitments. Today I received an sms from edgars giving me 10 0000 Thank U points to be used between the 25-29 Sept. Is it really worth my time using those points? Definitely not. With such bad service I would rather pay the price and forsake the points or even a better option as a cash customer is NEVER TO SHOP AT EDGARS AGAIN! My time is certainly worth more than their points.
