Dis-chem Brand products are expensive and useless!

I bought a non contact thermometer from Dischem Mondeor a couple of months ago. It worked fine till I needed it. All it says is Err5 ALL THE TIME!!! It will work now and then. I needed it the most the other night as my 1 year old had a VERY dangerous temperature!! and thanks to the dischem I bought, I couldn't monitor his temp!!! I can't even take it back cos you would think after paying R250 for a thermometer that it will work, unfortunately we were silly enough to throw the box away and the slip disappeared. I am extremely disappointed in Dischem!!! and I hope you can show me a bit of compassion by either giving me a new one or a full refund! I don't have a lot of money and for me to spend so much on a thermometer that doesn't even work, robbed me of a doctors visit for my son.
