FALSE ADVERTISING AND TERRIBLE ATTITUDE

Shops, Products, Services

Today, the 28th of August 2013, I went into the Macro in Springfield Park, Durban with the intention of buying a Sony CX220 handheld camera that was advertised as being Full HD and being on special at R2299.00. When I arrived at the Electronics counter the price tag did state that it was R2299.00, but as the teller rang it up, the price shown was R3468.00 (this did include an extra 32GB memory card at the value of around R430.00). I notified the teller that the amount was wrong and at this point a lady by the name of Vanessa Pillay told me that the camera was not HD as advertised. At this point I indicated that that was false advertising and the reason for me purchasing the camera was for the HD quality and without it I no longer wished to purchase it. At this point, Vanessa Pillay rudely informed me that sometimes their advertising in the printed media is incorrect! Which I find an unacceptable quality in such a large company. As disappointed and insulted as I was by this point, I still needed an HD camera for my work and it is only due to Afzal Abdul Azies (please excuse spelling) that I found a suitable replacement. I will be in contact with Consumer Watch.
