Replacement Please!

I Bought a Seagate 3tb external drive. It had problems with the connection to the drive - but otherwise worked fine - for 14 days! It just suddenly refused to connect or go on. I took it back to the "service" department - they told me it will be sent away immediatly and I would have it back by the Friday (this was Tuesday!) In spite of me insisting on a replacement (the consumer protection act states: Consumers are permitted to return goods to suppliers, without penality, and at the suppliers risk and expense, within a period of six (6!!!) months after delivery of such goods, if the goods are of inferior quality, unsafe or DEFECTIVE! ")
Now they say, yes but the supplier has the right to inspect the goods before replacement - Fine - but that is between Makro and Seagate - not me and Seagate! In spite of all my protests - they only said sorry - that is the way it is - by Friday I would have an answer. Needless to say - Friday came and Friday went. I had to phone them 3 time s today (Monday) to be put on hold for 8 minutes at a time and cut off twice!! Eventually I got an answer - sorry the drive was only SENT on Friday!! WHAT??? Now I hear I have to wait 6 - 8 WEEKS!!!
