Lack of assitance in correcting double payment

On 08 Aug 13, I made a purchase of R 99.98 at the Mr Price Scottsville, PMB. After placing my pin code in the machine, the cashier stated that the payment had not gone through, then swiped my card for a second time where I entered my pin code again. On 12 Aug, my bank statement reflected that the amount had been deducted twice. I visited the store yesterday and the staff had no idea how to handle this so called the call centre where they were on hold for over half an hour. When I stated that I cannot stand waiting, they stated that I must go to the bank as it is not an error on the Mr Price side, and were uninterested in assisting me. After complaining that I do not have the time to correct a Mr Price error, I was told that they (Mr P) would call me by the end of the day. I only received this call at 12 today where the cashier told me again to go the bank, while I was explaining that I do not feel that this is a bank error, the staff member was sighing at me. I am extremely frustrated with the service (or lack there of), and the attitude that I have received as the customer. I am very tempted to report this to the newspaper.
