Pick 'n Pay
Pick 'n Pay won't accept legal tender

Shops, Products, Services

I was just denied my lunch at Pick 'n Pay Hillcrest (Pretoria) because I had two 5 cent coins in my payment, and was told that Pick 'n Pay no longer accepts 5 cent coins. The South African government has not withdrawn the coins, and so they are still legal tender. I refuse to be told that I must find another way to pay for my lunch, when I already have the correct amount of legal cash. This is unacceptable behavior from a respected retailer.
