Makro
Not willing to comply with makro's policy

Shops, Products, Services

I bought an HP 6700 printer at Makro's Strubens Valley on 5 August 2013. The printer is slow and doesn't print the pages properly. It is also very slow when it comes to scanning. According to Makro's policy, customers have 14 days to return goods. I went the today, 13 August 2013 (well within the 14 day returns policy) to return the printer. I was then told by Anver Parton that because I have used the printer cartridges Makro can't accept the printer. My question was how can I know that there is something wrong with the printer if I don't use it. I then offered to pay for the printer cartridge but the manager for the printer section refused and said that the printer is not in the original packaging. He then passed the buck to HP saying that they will have to check if there is something wrong with the printer.

The manager was stubborn and unhelpful. Now I am stuck without a printer even though I had bought a printer less than 8days ago. I felt like he refused to take back the printer because it will affect his commission and didn't care about customer satisfaction.

I am very disappointed with Makro's attitude towards this and that they have flaunted their own store policy.
