Poor service & no product support for Lexmark

I purchased a PRO 905 from Makro on the 23 Oct 2010. The printer carriers a 5 year guarantee. Two weeks ago i experienced problems with the printer, after visting the Makro store in Strubensvalley where the printer was purchased- i was informed to contact Lexmark- which i did. Lexmark advised me that theprinter needed to be registred in order for the guarantee to be valid, as such this matter must be referred to the retail store. This was done, i was advised by the manager that Lexmark no longer supplies them and i need to follow up with them myself. The only way they can help is if Lexmark provides them a credit or i purchase a NEW PRINTER and they will give me a discount. They do not provide any support for this product and no one can fix it either..
I have proof of purchase FROM "makro" not Lexmark. Furthermore there is no support for this product to be fixed be ut of pocket and purchase a new one. So the printer wich i have had in my posession from the 23 Oct-2010-10 June 2013-- 2years and 8months old printer should be disposed
