False advertising and Management bad attitude

I went to the Village Mall branch of Pick n Pay in Westville to purchase bottles of Pakco branded pickle which were on special for R17, 99 and was refused to purchase the item at promotional price. The sign clearly stated "Various Atchaars on promotion". "Atchaar" which is the Indian term for pickle which no one at the store understood. I queried this with the manager of the branch who refused to give me the item on promotional offer. Many of my colleagues at work purchased bottles of this item, and were allowed to purchase it at R17, 99, yet I was refused. The manager used excuses such as the actual bottle weighing more, instead of something else. I checked each bottle on the shelf and every single one had a different weight. The bottle my friend purchased for R17, 99 weighed more than the one I intended purchasing. It seems that the Village mall branch selectively chooses which customers they want to give the promotions to. I was really embarrassed since all this took place in front of many shoppers waiting at till point. I am really disgusted at the attitude of management at the Village mall branch. They should educate themselves on customer service and terms such as atchaa
