HOW DO YOU COUNT GAURANTEE PERIOD

On Sunday evening 14th July geyser manufactured by Franke burst flooding bedroom and bathroom - contacted Insurance comp who sent plumber on Tuesday to inspect damage - confirmed geyser burst but stated they could not touch it as it was still under manufacturers gaurantee - contacted Franke this morning. Geyser was installed on 18th July 2008 and has 5 year gaurantee on cylinder. Peter from Franke states geyser out of gaurantee - claims gaurantee expired at end of June 2013!!! Info on serial plate states July 2008. So sit without hot water - insurance say geyser under manufacturers gaurantee Franke say out of gaurantee and nobody fixing it. 5year gaurantee July 2008 should only expire July 2013 I believe this is still manufacturers responsibility but they are now ducking.
