Wheel clamp for parking at Kwikspar Woodstock

Shops, Products, Services

I parked at an unmarked parking bay at the Boulevard yesterday, but when I returned a few hours later, I found that my wheel had been clamped by Boulevard Kwikspar (Hillside Store CC) Woodstock, for being parked more than 15 minutes.

I took up the matter with Graham (manager?) at Boulevard Kwikspar), who explained that I had passed a small warning sign by the entrance to the parking area, which stated that cars may not be parked for more than 15 minutes. I explained that I was looking for my place of business and had not seen the sign whatsoever, but Graham was not interested. I apologised by taking up a parking bay for so long, but Graham was not interested. I begged and pleaded for some sympathy with my situation, but Graham was not interested. After I paid in sheer desperation, the clamp was removed, but I was never informed it was done, while I was left standing in the shop waiting for Graham who disappeared and never returned.

How can a customer-facing person, who obviously has NO concern for people or customers, be in charge of a customer-serving shop? How is paying a fine of R200 going to make a utilised parking bay available for other shop-users?
