Returns Policy change and no attention to detail

I went in to the Meltz clearence store at the end of June. Great sale on, purchased for around 3k, went back the following day purchased another 2k worth of merchandise. Returns policy on their store windows stated 30 days exchange policy. Was away on holiday for a week, returned and found further reductions as they were now closing. I brought in 5items to be returned/exchanged and purchased for another 1k approximately. Firstly security staff were instructed not to allowed any items to be brought in for exchange, i asked to speak to the manager who after me insisting that they cannot change their policy in a matter of weeks and just expect the customer to accept, after alot of complaining as to why head office doesnt want exchanges, and that Meltz is now 'loosing out' by me returning the items, and was told 'imagine if all the clients did this" Did what? exercised their rights as a consumer? I also brought in items that the cashiers had forgotten to remove the security tags, one of my Reebok L/sleeve tops was not returned to me, wanted to use it this weekend and was not in the meltz bags. I still have atleast 2 items that have those tags on them and need my Reebok top replaced.
