DISAPPOINTED IN THE SERVICE THAT WAS PROVIDED

I purchased two garments last month and after fitting it on noticed that it does not fit me at all, there by convincing myself that I had to return it as soon as possible. I tried to do this before exceedin the 30 day period. This week I went to the store where the purchase was made to do the exchange as the 30 days was almost up, and because Meltz does not refund customers, only to find the store has closed down. I then contacted the customer service number explaining my situation and also looking for a soultion. I was informed that meltz does exchanges within 6 weeks of purchase and they also offer cashback vouchers as long as the garment still has its swing tag attached and the original receipt of purchase. Once informing the lady that all is in order and that I'm in kimberley, she then proceeds to inform me that there's nothing that can be done, because the Kimberley and Bloemfontein stores have been closed. Now I'm stuck with items that I can't wear or exchange. Is that really the way to offer customer service or even retain customers?
