Bad Service, turning paying customers away

I went to @home to purchase a glass office desk.

I asked the sales person if the desk was in stock, to which he replied that it wasn't but there was stock at the main stock warehouse in centurion. I asked him if he can order it for me and i will return to the store to collect the item.
I was then told that they would not deliver to there own store, unless I paid a delivery fee.

That's absolutely non-sense, the company delivers stock to the branches based on expected sales and here I am a guaranteed customer for a product and they refuse to sell it via there branch.

I spoke to the store manager and she said that this is a company wide policy, myself and at least four other customers (in the 40min I was there) were all told the same story on various products.
