Design Quarter - No Stock!!!

@Home in Design Quarter have a selection of desks on display in their store however they did not have stock of the one i was looking for, which in itself is annoying but i can definitely deal with it especially since i was not in a huge hurry for the furniture. I explained to the staff member that i was happy to pay for it and wait till their warehouse restocked the store or even if Sandton had stock i would go there (not that he was bothered to check the system for me). I was then told that they won't do that, if i wanted to desk i had to either drive to Pretoria and collect it myself from their warehouse or i could get it delivered to my home for an additional charge of R400 odd - but still pay full price for the desk.
How is it acceptable that @Home have items on their floor but can't be bother to carry stock?!?!? Why should it be my responsibility to get the stock from THEIR warehouse?!?!?!
Seriously @Home... not cool!
