Worst Service Ever!!!

I bought a dress at the Forever new range in Edgars Somerset Mall on the 26th of June for an event on the 29th. Kindly asked the person who assisted me if I could return if it didn' t fit whom said yes. On the 28th I took it back, just to find out that they didn't want to refund me as the dress was smelling of perfume (which according to me and 2 other people didn't). Michelle then told me to contact her manager (Angelique) because I had the problem and not her. I called their manager and explained the situation (which she didn't know about). According to Michelle her manager would just say no. The branch manager (Edgars) of the store could not smell anything on the dress and said it was in perfect condition then authorised my refund. I am also in retail and am very disappointed and disgusted in the manner this situation was handled. What happened to customer service and what happened to consumer rights? We as customers pay their salaries. Doesn't it count for anything? Many thanks to the rest of the staff (Edgars) who actually tried to sort out my problem. Michelle made me feel stupid and ignorant. Shock, hurt and disgust doen't even explain my feelings!!!
