I was given a prescription by my Doctor together with two tests that were take over a period of a month. My Dr asked me to go and fill the script at the pharmacy and make sure that the pharmacist fills my script out of chronic benefits. When my partner got to the pharmacy he was told that the script is not under my chronic benefits but the instruction was to put it under my benefits because it isn't there to begin with. The pharmacist told him that he can only get the meds (asmanex) for cash. How is that possible when only last month I had a script for the very same medication and my medical aid paid for it? The pharmacist fed us the wrong information because after my partner told me he paid cash I visited the Bonitas website, I found out that the pharmacist should have called in and registered me telephonically or if the issue was that she doesn't want to use the phone that has been provided to them for business purposes we could have made the call right there and then. For that matter why did she not charge it out of my day-to-day benefits if she isn't knowledgeable. She should have known what the procedures are as a professional practitioner and relayed that to us.
