Offered Store Charge card but blocked card issued!

My husband received a pre-approved account from Woolies. He decided to take up the offer and called WFS to activate. After a lengthy call, the account was processed pending final approval. Afterwards he received post congratulating him on the account, gave account details & advised that should he wish to use the card, he needs to obtain a temp card @ any store while he waits for the plastic 1 to arrive.

We decided to use the acc @ Canal Walk store on Saturday 15/06/12, went to FS, assisted by Lutfia (not friendly at all!). She issued the card, we did our shopping. Came to till, gave the temp card along with his ID only to find that the transaction was declined. They called Lutfia who advised we needed to come to her. We then paid for our purchase with Cheque card & went back to FS. She then said the problem was on side, we needed to call them. We then told her to leave it! Surely when issuing the card, she should have noted that the card sequence was blocked on Mainframe thus we would not be able to use the card? Imagine the Woolies store card was our only means of payment, that would mean that we had to put our goods down, embarrassing!

Please sort this mess out ASAP
