Dis-Chem
Unable to make competent decisions

Shops, Products, Services

On 7/2/2013 an updated prescription from my endocrinologist was sent to Dis-chem. It clearly showed the change from Aspavor to Simvastatin that Discovery insisted upon. Someone at Dis-chem did not update it on the Dis-chem system which resulted in major inconvenience for me as I am living out of the country.

On 4/5/2013, I came into Dis-chem Westwood for the same problem:-
1. Dis-chem insisted that Simvastatin was not on the system and Aspavor was as per the script. After many attempts to make the lady understand that I had previously gotten it from another Dis-chem branch (Woodmead), how could it not have been on the system? She refused to give it to me on my medical aid but sold it to me for cash. How can you dispense such medication for cash if you do not supposedly have a script for it?
2. I produced to the pharmacist on duty, proof of approved extended chronic supply benefits email received the day before from Discovery. The pharmacist refused to accept this as the "system" said we we're not authorized from extended benefit even though I had proof of authorization from Discovery.

I find this unacceptable and a poor example of customer service and gross incompetence.
