Account handed over without notification

It has come to my attention a week ago that my HomeChoice account has been handed over to the lawyers. This is the first time i have heard about my homechoice account for about 2 years ago. As far as i an remember my acocunt with you was paid in full. Home Choice used to send me monthly statements of what was still outstanding. I have not received a letter/statement or call from HomeChoice in over 2 years ( -) I did not receive any final warning or anything via mail/e-mail or telephone.
Now i get a call from a lawyers office demanding this money to be paid and they refuse to send me a statement until first payment is made.
Why have i not been notified about this before my account got handed over??? i refuse to pay for these lawyers fees. If you like we can take this furthe
