We purchased a wallet from Truworths which stated GENUINE LEATHER and within a year the genuine leather wallet was pealing and falling apart. I ran into financial difficulties during this time and failed to pay on time. However, emails were sent informing Truworths of my financial and medical problems. Truworths continued to harass me even when I informed them that there was a problem with the wallet - the told me they had no records of this wallet. I continued to pay the amounts that I was requested to pay and my last instalment was R41.96 of which I paid R40.00 as I did not have the statement with me via eft. In the last 3 weeks I have received numerous calls and sms wanting to collect R1.96. These calls and sms cost more than I owe by far. My wife emailed Truworths and after 2 sets of emails enquiring if they do not have a small balance write off facility they informed her it had be written off. I have just received a phoned call from the collection agents requesting for R1.96 AGAIN!!! I am in complete shock at how Truworths are treating their customers and wasting more money on trying to collect R1.96 than actually just writing it off.
