Dont make promises you cannot keep

I wanted to purchase a bed from Mr Price first there was no notifications and staff was unaware of the proceedures when purchasing furniture, I mean there should at least be a notice with the waiting period for customers to have an idea and to make choices. I am only informed of the 4 to 6 week wait and that displays are not for sale at the store. I then call the head office and explain had I known of the waiting period I would have ordered the bed way before, but since I did not receive the correct info... well then the call centre then says there's nothing they can do but they will waiver the long wait if I can pay for the bed up front then a oromise to have it by the 10th January 2013. No notifications, no other communication even though I had kept my part and immediately paid for the bed. I feel that I was mislead
