Can I charge this Company with Customer Abuse?

I took out a contract with ADT in July 2011. Was told I could cancel at ANY time for a 1% cancellation fee. Have been trying since August 2011 to get them to change my system to a 'pet-friendly' system as the rep didnt tell me that I wouldnt be able to use the one they installed. (he spent hours here and was fully aware that I have 7 dogs and 2 cats who all sleep in the house). After being ignored for months, I cancelled my debit order in April 2012. Finally got some phone calls from them, ( asking for money) and after telling them my problem, always promising to send a rep to sort things out! Till NOW - NOTHING has been done to solve this problem, despite numerous emails, phone calls and promises from them. No-one has been to see the installation or make any effort to fix this mess. I am at my wits end - NOW suddenly they send me a final notice and are threatening legal action!!! All I want is a security system that works and I will be more than happy to pay for such a service. I hate being ignored and treated this way and think they have a very very useless customer service department!!!
