On Saturday a visitor accidentally pressed my remote panic button (that was installed by Chubb), he pressed it again twice to try and switch it off. I waited for Chubb to phone me, there was no call after 5min I phoned them to ask them why they have not yet phoned. The operator said that they would still phone but the call centre was busy because of the weather - he also said that they received a normal activation and not a panic alarm signal - this means that the Chubb installer (which I paid for) did not do his work properly and endangered my life - I did receive a call from them but it was 40 min after the alarm was activated. Although Chubb might be cheaper than other security companies - you have to decide if it will be worth paying them and the first call comes after 40min. They also never go out if they cant reach you to check that your house is fine. It might sound like a over-reaction but I could have been dead - and the reason I pay the monthly subscription is for that ONE time I need you. I want the installer to fix the remote alarms and want to talk about getting out of my contract to join another company with better response time. Your customer call centre is off-line.
