Mix Telematics Africa (Matrix Vehicle Tracking)
MX3 product highly defective

When I got a new vehicle in February I thought it was a good idea to have vehicle tracking installed. I opted for Mix Telematics' MX3 Matrix unit specifically because it provides a tax logbook generation feature.

Since it has been installed I've had regular false alarms or what they call geolock movement alarms, even while my vehicle is completely stationary in my office parking.

Apart from the annoying calls you get with the false alarms, I've discovered that the tax logbook feature is also completely defective. I have trips recorded as 14KM where you can clearly see from the associated odometer readings that the trip was more than 400KM. The response I received from the support centre was that it is the customer's responsibility to check and correct the logbook entries on a weekly basis, which completely negates any possible value one is supposed to derive from an AUTOMATIC logbook generation feature.
