Adt Security
Unacceptable response tim

Security

With only 1200 characters available, i have to summarize the series of events.

On Thursday, 9 May 2013 at approximately 18h05 two armed men attempted to hijack our car from our driveway. On witnessing this the ADT panic button was triggered and a call to 10111 was made. The incident continued till approximately 18h15 until the hijackers were disturbed by a neighbour who was also assaulted in the process before the criminals fled. The alarm was switched of remotely by the ADT control room and no response unit had arrived.

ADT reaction officer casually arives at the scene 1835 after the SAPS. This is a first in South Africa.

This incident has seriously affected our confidence in ADT as we feel ADT simply can provide an effective service to people in imminent and present danger. If they had responded timeously and responsibly during our ordeal they could have apprehended the armed and dangerous criminals in the act.

In closing I would like to ask ADT to respond to the following:

1) What is a reasonable response time to a panic alarm? You claim the average to be 5 and a half minutes?
